International Scientific Conference 2010

This year, the Faculty of Economics in Niš will celebrate the 50^th anniversary of its existence and work. Over the past half century of its existence, the Faculty of Economics has excelled in the field of education, research and development and secured its position among the leading institutions of economic profession.

Traditionally, throughout its fifty-year history, the Faculty of Economics has organized scientific conferences on current issues on the occasion of the Faculty Day. Each year, the number of participants is growing increasingly as well as the number of countries the authors come from.

Considering the important challenges facing economic science and practice under contemporary business conditions, this year, to mark the 50th anniversary of existence, we have chosen as the main topic of the traditional conference The Challenges of Economic Science and Practice in the 21st Century.

The primary aim in choosing the topic has been to bring to light the obstacles that stand in the path of further development of economic theory and practice and the ways of removing them. The aim is also to create a stimulating environment that allows fruitful debates on various interest areas. An international convention enabling open discussion on the undertaking research of all the participants would therefore optimize individual experiences and bring its contribution to scientific knowledge.
